Discovering the city that shaped the person behind the music.
“Amor, I didn't want us to just visit the Avicii museum and leave. I wanted to show you the places that were part of Tim's life, because I know how much his music has meant to you. So I planned a little journey through his Stockholm. And of course, we're going to make some memories of our own along the way.”

Östra Real Gymnasium

The story
Tim attended Östra Real and graduated in 2008.
His former music teacher recalled that he'd been spending a lot of time creating music on his own. When she needed to assess his musical ability, he brought his equipment to school and demonstrated his work — she was impressed and gave him the highest grade.
This is a documented recollection from his former teacher, not an invented story.

Hedvig Eleonora Church

The story
Tim grew up in the surrounding Östermalm neighborhood.
His father explained that Tim lived nearby and attended school-leaving ceremonies at the church. A memorial service was later held here in November 2018.
“Amor, I love that we're visiting the places that were part of Tim's life before he became known around the world. It reminds me how much our own families, hometowns and experiences shape us. We come from different places, but somehow everything brought us to Ibiza and to each other. And now we're getting ready to build our next chapter in Italy.”

Standing Waves Memorial
Humlegården · Stay: 20 minutes · ~10 min walk (estimate)
The story
Humlegården was one of Tim's favorite parks, and his family was consulted about the location of his memorial.
Standing Waves was inaugurated in September 2022: three stainless-steel forms that move with the wind — like sound waves made visible. Music is movement, and Tim's music moved people toward each other.
“Amor, this is the place I really wanted us to finish our little journey. Tim's music was part of what inspired you to come to Ibiza, and somehow that decision became part of the story that brought you to me. He never knew us, but his music became part of our story too. And now we're here, in his hometown, together. I think that's something really special.”
“I don't think living a life we will remember means doing something extraordinary every single day. I think it means being present, taking chances, doing what we love, taking care of each other, and appreciating all the little moments along the way. That's the kind of life I want with you.”
